A box of one item is 100 pieces; a box of the next is 5,000. The conversion lives on the item-master record, not in a formula, which means a system cannot infer it from the document alone.
Orders frequently mix bases within one document: some lines in eaches, some in boxes, some in thousands. Each needs its own conversion against its own SKU.
