SISM

SISM, the Scheduled Import Service Manager, is Epicor Prophet 21's native bulk order intake: it collects order files from an agreed location on a schedule, moves each from Submitted to Processing, and assigns a P21 order number.

It is used by Epicor's own B2B Seller, by commerce connectors, and by third-party order tools, which makes it a well-trodden route rather than an obscure one.

For an order-automation product it has a specific advantage over an API: because the handoff is a file collected on a schedule, there is an inspectable artifact between the two systems, and no live write into the ERP.

Why it matters on an order desk

SISM needs no additional licence, unlike the P21 Transaction API. It is the route FrontBeacon targets for Prophet 21 sites.
